Some streets in Constanța could be, in the future, named after personalities of national minorities. The project, which is part of the Cultural Strategy of Constanța for the period 2021 – 2031, belongs to the local councilor Ateș Casimceali, who has already submitted a request to the national minority organizations with a view to advancing some proposals in this regard.
„I started from the idea that the city of Constanța is in a permanent process of expansion, which is why I proposed to my colleagues that the streets of one of the neighborhoods that will be built in the future be named after personalities of ethnic communities in Dobrogea. I believe that it is not only a reconfirmation of our status as a model of interethnic coexistence, but also a proof of mutual respect. I am very happy to have found support from my colleagues with whom I worked on the Cultural Strategy of Constanța and openness to national minority organizations that have already started to send me their proposals „, said Ateș Casimceali, councilor in Constanța Local Municipal Council and vice-president of UDTTMR, Constanța branch.
The project was officially launched by the Constanta councilor on the occasion of Dobrogea Day, celebrated every year on 14th of November.
